Team Fusion facing challenges: Särä Tasting and Day Trip to Lemi

Hi! We are team Fusion

We are four students - two from Finland and two from Russia. Three of us me, Alexandra and Alexey are studying at the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences and Annamari is from the LUT. So we are a mix team – THE FUSION. In our team there are different cultures, we come from different schools as well as we are from different decades :) So the different backgrounds mixed together makes our team so super and unique!

We have been working on the Säräpirtti Kippurasarvi assignment now for about two weeks. We have had some nice time together. Not too much writing but many crazy ideas. Last week was busy for us and we were able to see and taste new things. The top of the week was our särä dinner event. We tasted the Särä and it was as good as they said that to be. We visited the beautiful restaurant Säräpirtti Kippurasarvi also in Lemi. In addition our dear foreign members, Alexandra and Alexey, had also some countryside sightseeing when making our way to Lemi. It must have been an experience not to forget for a while.:)

Only Annamari had tasted the Särä before so it was interesting for me as well to taste this famous, traditional dish for the first time. We ordered the Särä, potatoes and sauce through the online shop on Monday and two days later we prepared the food ourselves at Alexandra’s place in Lappeenranta. It was lots of fun, but not too complicated at all. The food was so delicious!! Everybody loved it. No doubt for thatJ

Next day we visited the restaurant at Lemi together with the other two teams. Esko and Kati Hietaranta, owners of Säräpirtti Kippurasarvi hosted us. It was interesting to see the oven they use for preparing the Särä as well as to hear about the history of this traditional dish, Särä. It is definitely a place to visit at least once in a life. We were also able to ask questions. It was a nice day there in the middle of nowhere where, at the home of Särä. And the sun was shining too! We did enjoyed the day at Lemi even if our nasty competitors were there as wellJJ just kidding…We love the other teams as wellJ it’s nice to get to know new people.

Tomorrow we are going to Lemi once again. We will be doing some videos there. Sounds exciting, don’t you think? It’s going to be interesting afternoon! You never know what’s going on in Lemi…But by following Innocity’s Facebook site you will soon know what happens in Lemi tomorrow:D
